Marc Sijan

Marc Sijan is a sculptor based in Wisconsin, his life-sized sculptures cast of polyester resin and made real with oil paints. The four above (clockwise) are titled "Mrs. Feel Good", "Security Guard (seated)", "Mamma Mia", "Tourist Trap" and "Mamma Mia". I saw his work recently at the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts in downtown Tampa. The figures are so uncanny that people did a double take of the security guard when they got too close to the display. Sijan's work reminds me of Ron Mueck, though nowhere near as mammoth.
